Career/Camp Opportunities


Expanding Your Horizons: Hands-on workshop at NDSU focused on developing career interests for girls grades 7-9 in the math and science areas.

Girls/Boys State: Students completing their junior year may attend. The Lester Peterson Auxiliary and Lester Peterson American Legion Post will cover registration to the program.

Herdina Academy for Construction Trades: Open to North Dakota and Minnesota students ages 15 and older. Hands-on learning in areas like carpentry, plumbing, refrigeration, and air conditioning. A two-week program held at Minnesota State Community College in Moorhead and a $25 fee. www.hbcfm.com

HOPE (Health Occupations and Professions Exploration) Offers students 4 days of hands-on activities and classes to explore a wide variety of health professions. Open to students entering 10th-12th grades. Cost is $100 per student, usually held in June. Sponsored by Sanford Health and NDSU College of Health Professions.

North Dakota Governor's School: Six-week residential program at NDSU for scholastically motivated students, interested in learning more in the areas of agriculture, architecture, landscape architecture, engineering, English studies, information technology, laboratory science, mathematics, or the performing arts. If accepted, no cost to the student.

North Dakota Leadership Seminar: North Sargent School selects one student from the sophomore class to represent the school. There is no cost. You will spend three days at Jamestown University. Held around the end of May or beginning of June.
