North Sargent is currently looking for the following positions:

  • K-12 Music Teacher.  North Sargent Public School is dedicated to providing teachers time to engage in school improvement, family engagement, MTSS, BARR, and professional development through an innovative school calendar.

    Strong candidates will be certified to teach music in a K-12 environment. We encourage alternative applications for those who may qualify for an alternative license with a desire to become fully licensed. Insurance Benefit: $9,000 OR Cafeteria Plan: $6,000; Master’s Degree Tuition: 50% Match up to $8,000; District pays both sides (100%) of North Dakota Teachers’ Fund for Retirement

  • HS Special Education Teacher. Will be responsible for planning instruction and/or adaptation of the education program to enable students to benefit from educational experiences. This individual will be a team player who cares about children’s academic success and personal development.

    North Sargent Public School District is a Class B school district of about 200 students. We are a fully implemented BARR (Building Assets Reducing Risks) district continuing to thrive in the program. We also support our students through MTSS with our Special Education and Title teams playing key roles in its success. We have adopted a calendar that allows us to provide high quality professional development and incorporate BARR into our school model.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES: Other duties may be assigned.

  • Communicates, collaborates, and cooperates with colleagues, supervisors, and students.
  • Instructs individuals and groups in specific education skill areas.
  • Plans curriculum, lessons, and special education programs and teaching methods.
  • Oversee and create paraprofessional schedules, teaching materials, and assignments.
  • Evaluates student progress based on papers submitted, test scores and observation.
  • Monitors students’ progress in and outside special education room.
  • Maintains physical environment of the classroom.
  • Maintains contact with parents of students.
  • Evaluates student progress based on work output and observation, determines goals, objectives and directions.
  • Prepares report cards, educational records, IEP forms, classroom observation records, and other forms.
  • Consults with regular classroom teachers   re: curriculum and test modifications and individual evaluation of student performance.
  • Assesses student achievement and ability with regard to eligibility for special service programs

SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES: Supervises students and paraprofessionals
